Candy and Pizza

Here is something artsy that I would like to share to you guys. It's the poem made by Candy, the lead role of the INDIE Australian Movie Candy, played by Abbie Cornish and the Late Heath Ledger. The plot revolved around an intense relationship that was often tested by addiction, sex, violence and love. I suggest to go ahead and download the movie.

I've noticed, hole in the wall pizza parlors have mushroomed around the city. I still have to try Venezia (in Banawa) and Mama Maria's (near asilo)... I've heard that these pizza places serve good pizza with lotsa toppings. Mama Maria tries to outdo Calda Pizza by serving pizzas up to 60 inches in diameter. HOOOLLLAAA,thats one huge pizza! When I checked out istorya.net, I then found out new pizza places that others would also recommend, like this pizza place that is near sacred heart for girls and a pizza parlor accross Goodyear Maguikay. I'm quite excited to do Resto Raves about these whole in the wall restaurants and see which places really do serve heavenly tasting pizzas. So if you guys know the owners of the pizza places that I've mentioned, ask them to send me some samples of their best sellers!

Quickie 2: Webcam Lovin'

webcam whoring before saying goodnight an yes, I did get a haircut. hehe
It's 2:23 am, I'm checking out my online accounts that I still care about and blogging about how random but fun this day turned out to be. I just finished encoding our organization constitution and by-laws which I created last night. It was so weird that I had the energy to finish drafting our by-laws til 3 in the morning, it must be the 3 coke saktos that I drank for my late tuna and linatang na baboy dinner.

Visiting ate Joy joy and Gi-ai's baby girl shantelle.

I'm sleeping over at tio's tonight, I have a feeling that I won't show up on my 9AM STAT Class tomorrow. YIKES! I would absent for the entire week if that is the case. I promised myself of no more unnecessary absences starting August and I'm quite serious about it cause I seriously don't like to see another INC or Dropped or worse 5 in my TOR. The organization is taking a lot of my time lately, especially when I am solely responsible in building it from scratch and making it work and hopefully last for a the years to come. After visiting baby shantelle at the hospital, we were suppose to try the newest pizzeria to hit town. Mama Maria's Pizzeria was the name of the place, i think. They're currently offering affordable pizza and marketing their pizza place as the pizzeria that serves the largest pizza in the country. My latest craving is pizza, specifically the ETNA/BOLOGNESE/HAWAIIAN pizza of CALDA. I can prolly finish one family size by myself, as long as it is served hot. The mozzarella is so sumptuous and heavenly! But I heard Mama Maria is if not as good, better than Calda.... that I can only tell when I can get a grab of Mama Maria's Pizza. Anyone from the company who would like to send me one to test?! We ended up going home at tio's place cause her parents were preparing one of her few send-off dinner. It's always fun to have dinner with Steph's family, I wish I could be in the same loving family.

check out my ultra pink nailpolish from fabnails/nail bar. Finally, I had time to get some feet and hand lovin'

I seriously need to hit the sack. I'll blog more whenever I've got more time.

TOODLES. TYVM.

Quickie 1

Sorry everyone if I'm not updating this blog of mine, school and procrastination attacks has been taking a lot of my time lately. It's almost August and I really wish I would be able to go through my plans of A) traveling to somewhere out of cebu B) hitting back to the gym of controlling my food intake C) stop canceling out on my morning *ehem* 9 am classes D) completely erasing someone's number E) save for the rainy days. Easy but tough.. we will see. I have to set out my goals again, I kinda forgot I had one after my "depression days" when I was not allowed to finish college in Manila.

This quick blog and checking my PEX account and I'm off to watch Adik Sa' yo. I am sooo craving for Calda's Etna/Hawaiian Pizza in family size. Should I get a delivery? Urgh.. so much for saving money for the rainy days.

I'm gonna do tons of Resto Raves - Moon Cafe Ayala and Pizza Roma Ayala.
Pictures from our Org photoshoot from last saturday.
Updates about random things.

CAMS AVP and Vblog and sunday quasi shopping

I was suppose to get a pedicure while waiting for Stephanie's text for later but I decided to eat Mang Inasal, shop for red lipstick, the Penshoppe bella cologne and a new brush.Bella (in pink) smells like ESCADA - fruity and summerish.

Afterwards, I went straight to the an internet cafe to kill time, which is what I'm doing right now.
I went a bit emotional while doing the entry about tio; imagine me crying inside the cafe, I can be such a loser sometimes.

Earlier today, I made our AVP for the CAMS event this afternoon. I was really tired last night that I decided to skip the making of the AVP first thing in the morning. I used Cyberlink Power Director 7 and my ever dependable Windows Movie Maker in creating the AVP. The Power Director was a pretty good program but I was still struggling with how to create an AVP using the program cause it was more complex than the movie maker. I was late for almost an hour and a half for the meeting, I was cramming and rushing to finish the video. It was not a help that I left my skirt at our mabolo house. But I made it on time, just right before the guest speaker ended his inspirational speech. All in all it was good, I had to put a show to make our "presentation" a bit lively. School that attended had more than 10 delegates, we were only four, I wanted the presentation to have a recall, so the audience would know Benedicto College does exist.

We didn't finish the whole program since it was past five and we had other plans, here is a video of us leaving the USJR campus where the event was held.

I'm quite excited to be part of CAMS, my highschool batchmate and my college schoolmate were responsible in creating the group.

Lets dance in style, lets dance for a while
Heaven can wait were only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you going to drop the bomb or not?

Let us die young or let us live forever
We dont have the power but we never say never
Sitting in a sandpit, life is a short trip
The musics for the sad men

Can you imagine when this race is won
Turn our golden faces into the sun
Praising our leaders were getting in tune
The musics played by the madmen

Forever young, I want to be forever young
Do you really want to live forever, forever and ever

Some are like water, some are like the heat
Some are a melody and some are the beat
Sooner or later they all will be gone
Why dont they stay young

Its so hard to get old without a cause
I dont want to perish like a fading horse
Youth is like diamonds in the sun
And dimonds are forever

So many adventures couldnt happen today
So many songs we forgot to play
So many dreams are swinging out of the blue
We let them come true

I hate goodbyes and I told you never to text me 2 days before you're leaving but you texted be and now I can't help but be emotional about you leaving. Two years is long, too long for someone who I've been with through the roughest time in my life. You were the first to visit me when I told you, I killed myself just the other night, you don't have any idea how that meant to me. I wish I could have been a better friend, I hope I was good enough love. So tonight, I'm putting my brave mask on, I hate to cry infront of you, I've cried infront of you countless times already, I want you to leave with a memory of me smiling. I love you forever tiobebs, I don't think things will ever be the same without you around.

P.S. Your so mean, I was suppose to be the one leaving not you.

Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay

According to Facebook, it's his birthday today. Happy Birthday. Last year, I emailed him the lyrics of the song Million Miles away and yesterday without any apparent reason, I sang my hearts out to Katy Perry's Thinking of You at POD5. I found myself sad after a really happy night with Belle and Riva last night, the alcohol and nausea made it worse, I felt really awful but thank god I didn't cry. While watching Karen explaining how she really loves Ruben when she was bidding Ruben's family goodbye, I suddenly cried, cause I exactly know how it felt to really like someone and do almost everything for that person just so that he would notice you, to the point of embarrassing yourself and being labeled annoying, obsessed and a freaky stalker. I hope beyond what he thinks or what his friends think of me, he would give me that opportunity of knowing who I really am. Is this love? I don't know, what I only know is that I wouldn't want to go through what I've gone through to get your attention so I'm sticking to telling myself that I am in love with you because it would be easier that way then to go through it all over again with another person.

Comparisons are easily done
Once you've had a taste of perfection
Like an apple hanging from a tree
I picked the ripest one
I still got the seed

You said move on Where do I go
I guess second best
Is all I will know

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I Was looking into your eyes

You're like an Indian summer
In the middle of winter
Like a hard candy
With a surprise center
How do I get better
Once I've had the best
You said there's
Tons of fish in the water
So the waters I will test

He kissed my lips
I taste your mouth
He pulled me in
I was disgusted with myself

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into...

You're the best
And yes I do regret
How I could let myself
Let you go
Now the lesson's learned
I touched it I was burned
Oh I think you should know

Cause when I'm with him
I am thinking of you
Thinking of you
What you would do if
You were the one
Who was spending the night
Oh I wish that I
Was looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Looking into your eyes
Oh won't you walk through
And bust in the door
And take me away
Oh no more mistakes

Cause in your eyes I'd like to stay...

Sixteen Partners and One Moon. | Resto Rave: Koppi Rotti & Pocherohan sa Mabolo

Why I named this entry such? Only Me, Steph and Shane knows. *enter my devilish smile* After 10000 million years, the three of us sat down and exchanged (well it was mostly shane who did the sharing) stories and updates of our and other people's lives. Imagine 5 hours of just talking, laughing and recalling about what happened in the past that affected the present. We used to do this every weekend or every chance we get but never appreciated those moments, until one day we found ourselves just hanging out with different people, still exchanging stories but not with much thrill and emotions like how we do it. One person was missing but I couldn't thank the Lord that that time in my life was over and that were both out of our lives. I'm speaking for myself.
No alcohol and going home early was the agenda that day. Shane had work by 7 and I had to leave because I wanted to convince myself that I was a good student. It was payday for Shane so she did most of the paying.

Shane | Steph | Iryn

We met at Kopi Rotti at the Gallery in Mabolo. Koppi Rotti had a different kind of menu, although I've seen it featured several times on TV when I went to get myself a drink, I was seriously at lost of what to order. There were no blended fraps, just like what I usually order at any coffee place, so I decided to get their house blended lemon tea. It was so-so, I could taste the freshness of the lemon, it wasn't too sweet nor too sour, just right but It wasn't the drink that would really remember nor order next time. Shane had their coffee with jelly, she said that was their best seller and Steph, I think got their cold chocolate. Kopi Rotti's price is very reasonable, I was in shock that their drinks were below a hundred bucks; good for those people who want to chill over a cup of something but is in a budget. We met on the afternoon when the heat from noon started to cool down, it was a perfect time to relax and unwind.

Steph with her signature pose. Why the BIG SMILE my friend? LMAO.

A papparazzi shot of me.

Shane bellot and that signature smile. Nathan has the same smile too.

This was suppose to be a picture of us three but I was too lazy to move from where I was sitting.

At around 4 we left Koppi Rotti to have early dinner. Shane pointed us to this hole in the wall pochero place at the back of Sarossa Hotel. They serve mouth watering pochero and other viands during lunch but their pochero is staple in their menu. How much for a serving of hot pochero soup with succulent meat? ONLY 40 PESOS. Seriously?! Seriously!!!!! If available, they can provide you good Ginamos for free. They're open for lunch and dinner and close by 9:00 PM; if the pochero place were open during the wee hours in the morning, it could be a good place to head to after a night of inuman with friends.
Pochero is L-O-V-E

Another paparazzi shot of me and steph; Steph looking at me while I'm enjoying eating their left over pochero meat.

We strolled around Ayala, Shane got Gelatissimo and by 7:30 we all said our goodbyes and separated ways.
Brain freeze?

It been awhile since I had a picture with her.

Thank you bellot for the treat, for introducing me to the pochero place and for the pictures.

Photoblog: Extravaganza Red!

Check out my photo blog from Riva's surprise birthday get together last Saturday.
Pick up point: Starmart Banilad. Call time was at 3:00pm but due to heavy downpour and the filipino time, we were about an hour late to pick the birthday girl up.

Meanwhile, Kring-kring and Bibi were at City Garden Coffee setting up the place. Photo: Bolognese-Calda Pizza (Super size), Coke/Zero, sprite and Goldilocks Chocolate roll cake.
Leading the birthday girl towards the surprise. She didn't have any idea where were at and that I was there.

The posse posed for the camera. (Thanks to the boys for being such lovely cameramen)
On the third picture, we were suppose to do a headache pose but look at what emem did. Blahhhh... haha

The girls having fun taking photos of themselves; I on the other hand was complaining of mosquito bites while slowly eating the mallows out of the cake. hehe

What was expected to end early turned out to be a night out till 11:00 pm. We had random conversations from memories from college, facebook updates to how-well-do-you-know-your-boyfriend Q&A portions.Clark and Mercy

Dan and EmemOh sai bakit ka nakasimangot? Miss mo na ba si Jaycee mo?

There were side trips like our my photo drama with elena that I would title: Baby Angel slash Angas and Cruella deville. Which turned out to be a make up 101 demo from whatever I learned from different Youtube make up tutorial videos.

We all decided to stop by Silogan ni Gian to fill out stomachs before heading home.
It was a good and fun day, chilling and exchanging laughs with my college friends. I really miss hanging out with them during breaks. Even if those 2 years of nursing life was unsatisfactory, these were the people who made it really memorable. I heart you friends.
Wish that banban was around to join us. We miss you banban.

Mama I: Sorry boys I'm taken.

I need to de-stress!

I need to destress. I'm meeting tantan in awhile since her badminton appointment got canceled. Today was stressful, when I woke up my dad was all over the place bitching; the document that I was doing for my COMPED exercise got lost because in the middle of saving the file, the computer froze, I raised my voice at our org president because she wasn't doing much in her responsibilities for the org, attendance of org activities are not improving, the org GT had to be moved because some people gave their dance troupe responsibilities more importance than org activities (which shouldn't be the case). Urgh, I feel so frustrated, good thing my cool HUM012 teacher was very understanding and patient to listen to my rants. He canceled our meeting and instead told me to prepare a mastery test on Wednesday before our pre-lims on friday.

It's P's birthday today. Happy birthday P, i miss you a lot.
Great back track that P posted on his facebook.

Quasi shopping + food spree day.

Spent half of the day with friends at City Garden Coffee. Yes, I wasn't able to attend the bloggers meet at the waterfront because I decided to chill and celebrate Riva's birthday with college friends. Elena even said that the surprise birthday get-togethers should become a regular thing; if it weren't for Lena the surprise get together wouldn't materialize. We got a gigantic bolognese-calda pizza and chocolate chiffon cake for Riva that we all shared over chit-chats and random Q&A's with those who had their partners that night. We ended up at Silogan ni Gian across USCTC. It was a good night, no booze but loads of fun. Tooo bad banban wasn't able to join us for some reason. If I had time, I could have dropped by Ayala to meet Steph and Karess but I was short for time, my Tita Gel was already looking for me at the Marriott. When I arrived at the executive suite, they welcomed me with a huge Roma Mia Chef's platter pizza. I had cheese and anchovies - eating the anchovies pizza made my kidney scream for help as it was REALLY REALLY salty. Slept at around 3am after a whole night of taking about how jologs my mom had become with my cousin cybil and my tita. Ohhh... I met my cousin Ragelle who really looks like me when I was her age and how she and my other cousin Jett also looked alike. I'm excited to meet her older sister Realise, who said "Omg Mom, I think I'm starting to become a shopaholic" and "I wanna be a Hollywood actress but I hate paparazzi, I want my privacy intact" at 8!
My brother

Eating my Cheese pizza

After mass at Sacred Heart Parish (the priest who did the 11 am mass delivered a good homily about gratitude and family), we went straight to SM because my tita wanted steam rice and wanted to buy shoes to use for tonight's party with her in-laws. OMG. I've never eaten that much dimsum my whole life! 4 plain siomai, 4 steam rice, fried rice, 3 crab pincher, 2 fried shrimp balls, empress siomai, 2 quail egg and 2 mushroom siomai. Bahhhh.... My pointed patent kitten-low school shoes (oppps but I still don't have my uniform ready)

Then we went to look for Tita's sandals and our school shoes. I had fun and in the coming days I'm sure there is more to come.

P.S.
Sorry for the pictures that are not well lighted, these pictures are taken from my camphone.
Pictures from Riva's birthday to follow.

Rants at 10:51

I miss my bed and the comfortable location of our mabolo house. I had to do a little move to our mandaue house since some things needed to be fixed, so the electricity needs to be shut down temporarily. God, i hate the thin mattress and how my back hurts every time I wake up in the morning. BOHOOO.

I think I need to buy new shoes, I'm so tempted to buy the kind of shoes that I don't need instead of shoes that I can use for school. Should I get flat or kitten-low kind? I was even thinking of getting crocs ballerina flats for school shoes but I don't think they sell that anymore. Last Thursday, I was denied entry by the guard because I was wearing slippers. Bahhhhh...

Speaking of school, my phone was full of missed call entries and text messages coming from my MC111 professor and my classmate. I was already told that there would be a make up class for our tuesday MC111 schedule but it was tentative, they were going to send out a text message by friday to confirm if we the make up class will push through today; apparently I didn't receive any text messages. I'm irked. Were only 4 in class and no one bothers to text everyone if there will be classes or not. Urghhh. I just received a message from my professor, apologizing that she wasn't able to inform us ahead regarding the classes.

Ahh.. so much to do today. There's the seminar, meeting my relatives from Hawaii and the girls get together.

I just seriously need my bed, my comfort place.

Resto Rave : BubbleBee Cafe

I've heard the name somewhere before but ever since I went on going out hiatus, I didn't bother telling my friends that we'd try out the place. Last Saturday, due to the insistent invitation of my friend Riva that we'd all go out with my college friends, I finally got to check out the place which had great ambiance reviews. The place did not disappoint me; the ambiance was cozy and interesting. At the parking place, you'd notice right away the running water on the glass walls of the second floor and the interesting circle shaped lights forming into a chandelier-like roof decoration at the al-fresco portion of the cafe. Bubble bee's first floor : Counter

Order Numbers & Bubble bee card: Free on your 12th drink (in bubblebee size)

Irene, Mercy, Erieech, Riva, Elena and Kring-kring.

The first floor is surrounded by white walls and white furniture with the blue lighting giving the whole room an oomph. The first floor is good for those who wants to eat and spend a quiet time at the cafe. The first floor is where you can find the counter where you will have to line up, order and pay straight up for your drink/food. The bubblebee cafe, by the way, is a self-serving style cafe but they do have 1 or 2 personnel who can assist you with your needs or help serve your orders.

On the way to the second floor with Kringkring

The native inspired second floor:Kring, Lena, Riva, Erieech, Irene and Mercy

Although it was raining that night, those windows were not wet because of rain, the walls were integrated with flowing water. (for fung-shui perhaps?)

Riva and one of the few lovely chairs on the second floor. This specifically is much loved by most of the girls. Cheers to Riva, its her birthday today!

The second floor is quite interesting, the interiors is a mix of rich colors like fuchsia pink, purple, black etc. One part of the wall gives a native like feel, another adorned with circles highlighted with green lights and another wall painted with loud Indian red-violet color. The second floor was an interesting mix of interiors and styles, good for picture-taking backgrounds. A divider made out of black strings are used to separate the different parts of the second floor. The whole second floor shouts, ME! all throughout. The other parts of the second floor. The picture where kring is would be the part of the second floor which was more modern-contemporary in style. The group photo is also the much loved room on the second floor, the Japanese style with Indian-Moroccan feel was a sure hit!

I went on a Saturday and the next Monday after that. I had to go back with a friend to do a little chit-chat before she leaves for the big J in the next few weeks.

Drinks(Saturday):
Milky Taro for me and Erieech, Strawberry Slush for Riva, Mango Slush for Sai, Blueberry slush for Lena and uhhh wasn't able to notice mercy and kring-kring's order.
Food:Fries, Chili chicken, Calamares and a scoop of ice-cream.

Riva with her chili chicken and Elena with our drinks and the fries served in an interesting shaped plate.

Monday:
Milky Taro slush for me, Watermelon slush for kimmy and Strawberry slush for Steph.
Food: Chicken/Meat Mango Wrap with Salsa (though I think they had another name for it).
Steph with her strawberry slush in bubblebee size and kimmy with her watermelon slush in queenbee size.

Verdict?
I had to get the Milky Taro again but this time in slush cause the one I ordered last Saturday was in liquid form, I mean it didn't have the blended consistency that I was looking for. It tasted like Quickly's Taro Ice. If your the type who likes ube-ish and milk flavor in one, the Milky taro is a sure pick. With their fruit slushes they had fresh and the artificial flavored one - the artificial flavored ones tastes like the one that Zagu sells but I highly recommend getting the fresh ones cause it would feel more refreshing with every sip. Their drinks have two size variants : bubblebee and Queenbee. The prices range from Php 90 - 120.00. Cheap considering the beautiful ambiance (but if you do want the cheaper version, there is always Zagu in your favorite malls). Every drink includes Sago or pearls but you can always ask for it to be replaced by other variants such as nata de coco or jello.

Mango Chicken/Meat wrap with salsa - Php 120.00

Food:
Aside from snacks and appetizers, Bubblebee does serve main dishes like pasta, meat and chicken plus deserts. I haven't tried their main courses yet but looks like they also had interesting picks in their menu. The fries were so-so, they looked like KFC fries with a frenchies fries taste (the ready to cook fries you buy at the grocery stores). Their chili chicken was interesting, 6 cuts of mixed wings and drumstick chicken parts. The calamares, I've had better but cheaper ones. The mango chicken/meat wrap with salsa was interesting in the palate. It tasted like turon because of the sweet mango but contradicted with the salty-ness of the ground chicken&meat mix and the tangy taste of the salsa. I recommend that you taste the mango chicken/meat if your adventurous and experimental. The ice cream was good in the palate, I think it was homemade vanilla ice cream cause it wasn't too sweet, good to be added on top of your crepe. Price? Quite expensive. Especially for their main courses. Php 75 for a small serving of fries to as much as Php280 for a one meal.

Uno stacko with Sai | Karaoke time with the girls

The interesting part of the cafe is that they provide other means of entertainment aside from your usual chit-chats with friends. They have Uno Cards, playing cards and Uno Stacko for you to rent, Php 50 per hour and free if your receipt reaches 500 pesos. If your not too shy and confident enough for other people in the cafe to hear you sing, then you can avail of their karaoke for Php 200 per hour or get two hours free for orders worth Php 1000.

The staff?
FRIENDLY and warm. Their crew is always smiling and ready to assist you with your needs - especially if you need someone to take your pictures. When we went with my girlfriends last saturday, we were preparing for a birthday surprise for our friend lena and it was the owner herself who prepared and decorated with ice cream - she even lend us a candle from her birthday cake for my friend to blow (we had to return the candle after though).

All in all I'd rate my overall experience with the restaurant an 8 out of 10.

Downside?
The place is quite hard to find (some of my friends had fights with their boyfriends because they couldn't locate the cafe). Quickfix? The cafe is located in north reclamation area, near shell gas station, look for a building with a huge Bulldog KTV bar billboard and that is where bubblebee cafe is. If you don't have a private car, you need to go by taxi since there are no jeepneys that would pass by the place.

*This is my first resto rave but there will be more to come. I love to look for places where there is good food and good find.
